Police Investigate Case Of Alleged Circumcision Of Non-Cash Food Aid In Banyumas

BANYUMAS - The Banyumas City Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Polresta) investigated a case of alleged circumcision of non-cash food aid (BPNT) which was reported by four representatives of beneficiary families.

"We have received the complaint from the beneficiary's family," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, Kompol Berry, quoted by Antara, Thursday, July 29.

Regarding the complaint, he said his party would immediately conduct an investigation.

Meanwhile, the attorney for the beneficiary's family, Anang Supratikno, said that the alleged circumcision of the BPNT stemmed from differences in the quantity of commodities received by residents.

"For example, potatoes, residents in several sub-districts receive 2.5 kilograms for 2 months. However, in other sub-districts there are those who receive 3 kilograms (1.5 kilograms per month, ed.)," said Anang Supratikno who came from Banyumas Anti-Corruption (Batik).

In addition, he said, residents only received 0.8 kilograms of eggs from the supposed 1 kilogram.

According to him, this cannot be tolerated because residents should receive food assistance worth Rp. 200,000 per month.

One representative of BPNT beneficiary families, Ika said the quantity of food packages or food assistance from E-Warong agents in July and August was different from before.

"In this period, we only received 2.5 kilograms of potatoes, whereas previously it was 3 kilograms or 1.5 kilograms per month. We are worried that if we don't continue it in the form of protests, our rights as recipients are clearly left as if we are willing to accept," said the resident. Cilongok District.
