CIKARANG - The Regency Government (Pemkab) together with the Bekasi Metro Police "conjured" the Beverly Hills Jababeka luxury housing complex in Mekar Mukti Village, North Cikarang District, Bekasi Regency, West Java into a centralized isolation place for industrial workers exposed to COVID-19

"This centralized isolation place is intended for workers or laborers, their families, and residents around the establishment," said Acting Bekasi Regent Dani Ramdan after inaugurating the isolation place, Wednesday, July 28.

Dani said the workers' centralized isolation area was formed by the Indonesian Employers' Association (Apindo) as part of the distribution of corporate social funds or Corporate Social Responsibility in cooperation with the Bekasi Regency Forkompimda.

The provision of a centralized isolation place for workers began with a local government coordination meeting with several company representatives a few days ago.

In the meeting, he said, Apindo stated its ability to provide isolation places for factory workers who were exposed to COVID-19.

The Bekasi Regency Government hopes that this centralized isolation can support the acceleration of handling the COVID-19 pandemic in the area, especially those from industrial clusters.

Dani also said that the financing operation for the centralized isolation of workers was allocated from a joint social responsibility fund of a number of companies under the auspices of Apindo, Bekasi Regency.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chair of the Bekasi Regency COVID-19 Task Force, Kombes Hendra Gunawan, said that more than 60 percent of the active COVID-19 cases in his area were contributed by industrial clusters.

Therefore, the existence of this place, which also includes health workers, is expected to be able to reduce the death rate and active cases which are now gradually decreasing by 30 percent.

This centralized isolation of workers, said Hendra, who is also the Bekasi Metro Police Chief, has a total capacity of 660 rooms designated for workers exposed to COVID-19 and health workers.

Kombes Hendra said this centralized isolation house will be monitored and monitored by health workers for 24 hours so that the health condition of its residents can be maintained properly so that it is hoped that it will be able to prevent death rates due to undergoing independent isolation.

"We are synergizing with all stakeholders, especially Apindo, which has finally realized this centralized isolation place. Everything will be integrated, there is no need to wait long for exposed workers," he said.

According to him, more than 60 percent of COVID-19 cases in Bekasi Regency are dominated by employees or workers, so this centralized isolation center is intended for employees who work in all Industrial Estates in Bekasi Regency.
