Not Only Hoax, Education To Literacy Level Influence Prokes Education To The Community

JAKARTA - A number of challenges are still being faced in the socialization of health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19 cases in Indonesia. One of them concerns disinformation.

This was conveyed by the consultant doctor of the Wisma Atlet COVID-19 Emergency Hospital, Andi Khomeini Takdir.

"Disinformation constraints. So hoax news is really homework. Until today, hoaxes related to the health sector, yesterday in a meeting with media friends and KPC PEN, there were more than 1,000 hoaxes this year," Andi said in a virtual discussion, Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, July 28.

Another challenge is the diversity of levels of education and literacy that creates differences in the acceptance of information and the saturation of the public with information about the pandemic that has been going on for more than a year.

In order to face these challenges, behavioral change ambassadors and extension workers must try to convey information in easy-to-understand language by taking into account the segment of society that is the target of the education program.

"Education is trying to be delivered in easy-to-understand language according to the segments of society we are trying to communicate the idea to," he said.

He stated the need for mapping the educational goals of health protocols and implementing education strategies based on the target segments of education.

In addition, according to him, it is necessary to emphasize the target of the education program that the implementation of health protocols and restrictions on community activities can lead to a reduction in the number of people who are sick due to COVID-19.
