Police Arrested Dozens Of Medan Labuhan Detainees Who Escaped

MEDAN - A total of 18 prisoners from the Medan Labuhan Police, North Sumatra, escaped. The prisoner fled after breaking through the glass door.

The prisoners escaped by opening the lock on the prison door while the police on duty were sleeping. After successfully opening the lock, the prisoners hit the glass door and shattered it.

Regarding the escape of the prisoners, a joint team from the General Criminal Directorate of the North Sumatra Police, Belawan Police, and Medan Labuhan Police managed to secure dozens of prisoners who escaped from the Medan Labuhan Police detention cell.

"Yes, that's right, yesterday, Monday, July 27, a dozen prisoners from the Medan Labuhan Police escaped", said the Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police, Commissioner Hadi Wahyudi, Wednesday, July 28.

After the incident, the joint team immediately pursued the 18 prisoners who had escaped. Hadi said the escaped prisoners were secured from a number of different places.

The prisoners escaped by breaking the 4 locks of the prison cells.

"Then they broke the glass in the front door and fled", Hadi said.

The team continued, Kombes Hadi was still in the field to chase down some of the prisoners who were still on the run.

"If you don't surrender, other efforts will be made", he said.

The detainees who have been detained have now been put back in the detention cell of the Medan Labuhan Police.

"We have put him in a detention cell", he said.

Commissioner Hadi was reluctant to reveal in detail what sanctions would be given to the Medan Labuhan Police Chief. The internal police team is still being investigated.
