Opportunities For Cooperation With The Panamanian Police, The National Police: Two Countries Are Good At Fighting Drugs

JAKARTA - The National Police welcomes the opportunity for cooperation between Indonesia and Panama, especially in the police institution. Because, with the establishment of cooperation can anticipate transnational crimes.

"There are various kinds of issues that are of common concern, such as drug trafficking and human trafficking," said the Indonesian National Police's Criminal Investigation Officer, Komjen Agus Andrianto, in a written statement, Wednesday, July 28.

In cooperation, the National Police and the Panam Police can exchange information and knowledge with each other. The police institutions of these two countries are known for their expertise in uncovering cases of drug smuggling and trafficking.

"Indonesia, which is known to be an expert in dealing with illicit drug trafficking, especially the type of methamphetamine, can exchange methods of dealing with it with the Panamanian police, which trades more on cocaine," said Komjen Agus.

"So that these two different things can be exchanged knowledge," continued Agus. For information, the Indonesian Ambassador to Panama Sukmo Harsono had made an official visit or courtesy visit to the Deputy Minister of Public Security of Panama HE Ivor Axel Pitti.

During the meeting, Sukmo discussed several things, ranging from the bilateral cooperation that had been carried out between Indonesia and Panama to exploring the potential for cooperation between the National Police and the Panamanian Police.

"We discussed efforts to further improve relations between the two countries, especially the Indonesian police institution and the Panamanian police," said Sukmo.
