TNI Deploys Babinsa For Digital Tracer To Suppress COVID-19 Cases

JAKARTA - The Indonesian National Army (TNI) continues to try to suppress COVID-19 cases in the country by deploying Village Development Officers (Babinsa) to carry out digital tracers.

TNI Commander Marshal TNI Hadi Tjahjanto said this when he symbolically handed over a laptop to the Indonesian Army Babinsa, the Indonesian Navy's Maritime Potential Development Officer (Babinpotmar) and the Indonesian Air Force's Aerospace Potential Development Officer (Babinpotdirga) They will carry out their duties as COVID-19 Digital Tracer personnel. .

In front of the Babinsa, the TNI Commander said that the laptop was a piece of equipment that had to be used and had to be mastered because it was the weapon of the Babinsa, Babinpotdirga, and Babinpotmar.

According to him, it is important for the Babinsa to master technology to break the chain of the spread of COVID-19.

"Therefore, the Babinsa, Babinpotdirga, and Babinpotmar were given training as digital tracers," said the TNI Commander, Tuesday, July 27.

So far, the Babinsa TNI AD, AL, and AU have carried out field tracers, but the results have not been massive. Therefore, currently the TNI will use two strategies, namely field tracers and digital tracers.

Marshal Hadi explained that the Babinsa who became tracer staff would conduct interviews with residents suspected of having close contact with COVID-19 patients.

"Digital tracers will later carry out interviews via WhatsApp (WA) or telephone with some prepared questions, but if there are obstacles, field tracers will move towards the target, namely the people who are confirmed to be in close contact tracing," said Marshal Hadi.

The interview data will then be recorded in a form that has been prepared.

Furthermore, the Babinsa who become tracer staff will coordinate with the puskesmas to carry out the next action, namely carrying out an "entry test" with antigens to find out whether the community shows reactive symptoms or not.

The work of the Babinsa as digital tracers, he said, was very important in breaking the bureaucracy that took so long to go to the field.

"The Babinsa, Babinpotmar, and Babinpotdirga are at the forefront who must be able to carry out efforts to mitigate or cut the chain of transmission to the lowest number," he said.

The TNI Commander hopes that next week digital tracers and field tracers from the TNI can run well so that they can suppress COVID-19 cases.

"I convey that being a digital tracer and field tracer is a noble task given by the government to Babinsa, Babinpotmar, and Babinpotdirga and must be carried out as well as possible outside of routine tasks such as distributing groceries and implementing health protocol enforcement," said Marshal Hadi .
