Criminals For Humanity, Anies Baswedan Asks Kapolda Fadil To Fight Medical Devices Mafia

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan asked the Polda Metro Jaya to take firm action against parties or mafia who 'play' with the availability of medical devices during the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Anies, in addition to being irresponsible, this act is also suffering for the community.

"We hope that the Regional Police Chief will continue and we support decisive action to process anyone who during this pandemic actually takes actions that do not protect others," Anies told reporters at Monas, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, July 27.

Anies branded the perpetrators as criminals against humanity. The reason is that when people are looking for oxygen cylinders for health, the perpetrators only think about profit.

"So I say they are not only breaking the law, but they are criminals against humanity. Thousands of people are working to save others and there are people who actually make people suffer more because of the very high prices due to the operations they carry out," Anies said.

In addition, the action taken by the police is not just law enforcement. Anies considers this action as an effort to save the community from COVID-19.

"This is not only enforcing the law, but it also brings a sense of justice to all of us who are working to face the pandemic and save others," said Anies.
