Bribery Case Trial: Former Investigator Robin Calls Walkot Tanjungbalai Called KPK Deputy Chairman Lili Pintauli

JAKARTA - Former KPK investigator Stepanus Robinson Pattuju said the inactive Tanjungbalai Mayor Muhammad Syahrial admitted that he had been called by the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Lili Pintauli Siregar, regarding the case being investigated.

The conversation between Syahrial and Lili Pintauli is related to the case of buying and selling positions in the Tanjungbalai City Government which is being handled by the KPK.

"Mr. Syahrial asked Fahri Aceh for help on the advice of Mrs. Lili Pintauli Siregar, as far as I know she is the Deputy Chair of the KPK," Robin said in a virtual session, quoted by Antara, Monday, July 26.

Robin became a witness for the defendant Muhammad Syahrial who was charged with bribing Stepanus Robinson Pattuju in the amount of Rp. 1.695 billion so as not to raise the case of alleged corruption to the investigation level.

The trial was conducted by teleconference, while the panel of judges, some of the public prosecutors (JPU) of the KPK, and the defendant's legal counsel were present at the Medan Corruption Court (Tipikor) located at the Medan District Court.

Robin said that Syahrial had told him that he wanted to ask for help related to the legal problem of buying and selling positions which was being investigated at the KPK.

"At the beginning, the defendant (Shahrial) said that she had just received a call from Mrs. Lili who said that 'Yal, how are you? Your file is on my desk,' Mrs. Lili conveyed to the defendant at that time," said Robin

According to Robin, Syahrial also asked for Lili's help.

"Then the defendant told Mrs. Lili 'help ma'am', then after that, Mrs. Lili said 'Yes, I have met my person in Medan whose name is Fahri Aceh'," said Robin.

Robin also admitted that he did not know whether Syahrial finally met Fahri Aceh or not.

"I don't know if the defendant has met with Fahri Aceh or not. As far as I know, the defendant already knew Mrs. Lili," said Robin.

Robin admitted to offering assistance to Syahrial. However, Robin did not report his offer to help Syahrial to Lili.
