"Legally and proven to have committed a criminal act by providing and then giving money amounting to 150 thousand Singapore dollars, plus Rp. 2.5 billion to Nurdin Abdullah, who was still serving as the Governor of South Sulawesi," said chairman of the panel of judges Ibrahim Palino, at the Makassar Corruption Court, quoted from Between, Monday, July 26.

The judge said, in accordance with legal facts, Agung Sucipto, who is none other than the owner of PT Agung Perdana Bulukumba, had deliberately given money to Nurdin Abdullah either directly or indirectly through Edi Rahmat.

This is reinforced by a number of legal facts, including statements under oath from witnesses Sari Pudjiastuti and Edy Rahmat, who previously stated that they had been instructed several times so that the defendant's PT Agung Perdana won in the tender for the Palampang Munte Botolempangan project.

"Therefore, considering based on the legal facts from the statements and evidence at the trial, considering that all the elements in the first alternative indictment of the public prosecutor against the defendant Agung Sucipto have been fully proven. Therefore, the defendant is hereby declared guilty and therefore sentenced to imprisonment for 2 years , and the obligation to pay a fine of Rp. 150 million with the condition that if you are unable to pay, it will be replaced with a prison sentence of 4 months," said the judge.

Based on this decision, both the public prosecutor and the defendant's legal adviser admitted that they had not yet decided on further legal action to the South Sulawesi High Court.

The defendant was proven to have violated Article 5 paragraph (1) letter (a), Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning criminal acts of corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001, concerning the eradication of criminal acts of corruption in conjunction with Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
