JAKARTA - The East Kalimantan Province COVID-19 Task Force recorded daily COVID-19 cases in the province setting a new record with an additional 2,106 positive confirmed cases on Saturday, July 24.
"This daily update is a record for the highest positive cases, the previous highest case occurred on July 22, 2021 with an additional 1,952 cases," said Spokesman for the East Kalimantan Province COVID-19 Task Force, Andi Muhammad Ishak, as quoted by Antara, Sunday.
Andi said additional positive confirmed cases occurred in Berau with 179 cases, West Kutai 263 cases, Kutai Kartanegara 329 cases, East Kutai 254 cases, Mahakam Ulu 84 cases, Paser 72 cases, North Penajam Paser 90 cases, Balikpapan 505 cases, Bontang 164 cases and Samarinda 166 cases.
"For recovery cases, 858 cases have also been added," Andi added.
The additional recovered cases occurred in Berau with 149 cases, West Kutai 65 cases, Kutai Kartanegara 72 cases, East Kutai 157 cases, Paser 39 cases, North Penajam Paser 53 cases, Balikpapan 101 cases, Bontang 156 cases and Samarinda 66 cases.
"The accumulation of positive confirmed cases of COVID-19 in East Kalimantan is 105,168 cases, while those who have been declared cured are 82,730," said Andi.
Andi added that there were 71 cases of death, with details in Berau 3 cases, West Kutai 6 cases, Kutai Kartanegara 19 cases, East Kutai 1 case, Paser 4 cases, North Penajam Paser 3 cases, Balikpapan 20 cases, Bontang 6 cases and Samarinda 9 cases.
"The total number of COVID-19 cases that have died in East Kalimantan is 2,825 people," he added.
Based on data from the East Kalimantan Province COVID-19 Task Force as of July 24, 2021, 19,613 COVID-19 patients who are still undergoing treatment either in hospitals or in self-isolation.
The patients were spread in Balikpapan as many as 6,556 people, Kutai Kartanegara 3,287 people, Bontang 2,059 people, Samarinda 1,999 people and East Kutai 1,613 people.
