Minister Of Religion Yaqut Announces The Arrival Of 8 Million Sinovac Vaccines, Now Indonesia Has 150 Million Vaccines

JAKARTA - Indonesia is back with the arrival of 8 million Sinovac vaccines from China today. The arrival of the 29th stage of the COVID-19 vaccine at Soekarno Hatta Airport was transported using a special container.

In his remarks, Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Choumas said the vaccine that arrived would accelerate the goal of communal immunity or herd immunity from the national vaccination program.

"The government has targeted a vaccination program of 2 million people a day in August. Of course this requires an adequate supply of vaccines. The arrival of the 29th stage of the vaccine will encourage the acceleration of vaccination nationally," said Minister of Religion Yaqut in the Presidential Secretariat's Youtube video.

However, he said, the vaccination program will not run optimally without the support of the wider community. Therefore, he invites all elements of society, especially religious leaders to make vaccination successful.

"Therefore, we invite religious leaders, leaders, religious organizations, religious institutions, and all elements of this nation to jointly succeed in the vaccination program by proactively visiting the vaccination center and helping enlighten the wider community," he said.

It is known, with the addition of 8 million Sinovac vaccines, there are currently more than 150 million vaccine doses consisting of raw materials and finished materials.

There are already four types of vaccines that have arrived, namely the Sinovac, Sinopharm, AstraZeneca, and Moderna brands. In August, another Pfizer vaccine will arrive. All of these vaccines have received an emergency use permit from the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM).

Furthermore, as of July 21, there were 42,611,602 people who had received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 16,606,675 of the second dose of vaccination. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
