Bangli Bali Regent Donates Salary To Buy Basic Food For Residents

BANGLI - The Regent of Bangli, Bali, and his deputy donated one month's salary to spend on basic necessities to be given to its citizens.

Meanwhile, all state civil servants (ASN) within the Bangli Regional Government donated Rp. 100,000 to buy food packages to be given to Bangli residents.

"PPKM for the community certainly has a broad impact on the economic cycle of the Bangli people in the midst of the current COVID-19 pandemic situation. In addition to the mass vaccination program and the implementation of health protocols, the Bangli Regency Government which is commanded along with Forkopimda, DPRD members and all OPD leaders have agreed to distribute basic food assistance for all Bangli people," said Regent Sedana Arta in Bangli, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, July 21.

The Bangli Regency Government distributed thousands of basic food packages to its citizens to reduce the community's economic difficulties, as a quick response related to the extension of the PPKM on 21-25 July 2021.

"This food distribution is carried out by inviting all ASN in the Bangli Regency Government with the spirit of working together to donate one basic food package for Rp. 100,000 for staff level, the collection of which is coordinated by the respective OPD leaders," added the Regent.

As for the level of leadership, it was agreed to vary, even the Regent and Deputy Regent of Bangli were ready to donate their entire salary for one month to buy food packages.

"So approximately 6,000 food packages will be collected which will be distributed to all affected communities. This movement will also continue to grow and is expected to become a massive movement along with an appeal to all entrepreneurs and modern shops such as Indomaret and Alfamart in Bangli to contribute to helping the people of Bangli together," he explained.

Regent Sedana Arta said that this movement was a form of Bangli Regency Government's concern for the community in the midst of the current difficult situation.

On the one hand, the community is limited in its socio-economic activities to break the chain of the spread of COVID-19, but on the other hand, the community must also be guaranteed their basic needs. For this reason, it is in line with the Development Vision "Nangun Sat Kerthi Loka Bali in Bangli Regency".

The Bangli Regent invited all ASN in the Bangli Regency Government to set aside their monthly salaries to be donated in the form of basic food packages to all affected Bangli communities.

"Hopefully this movement can be a trigger to inspire people who are able to work together to help others," he said.
