JAKARTA - The Tegal Alur Public Cemetery (TPU) in West Jakarta currently has a new crematorium that was donated by community organizations.

General Chairperson of the Riau Sumatra Teguh Teguh Social Association Social Association, Andreas Sofiandi, said the machine was donated by his party.

"We want to install the machine now. We will only install it in five days, so we plan to start Friday with the cremation of the body," he said, Wednesday.

Later, said Andreas, the machine will be installed in the cemetery area for Christians.

According to Andreas, the assistance was given because many residents had difficulty cremating during the COVID-19 pandemic. Some even have to leave Jakarta for cremation. "Some have to go to Cirebon, Purwakarta, Bandung," he said.

Later, residents who want to use the crematorium machine only need to provide a photocopy of the ID card of the deceased citizen and a certificate from the hospital for cremation.

Andreas hopes that the machine he gave can be put to good use, making it easier for the community.
