Children Exposed To COVID-19 Isolation At The Kediri BLK Building, Walkot: He Will Be Healed Soon, Take Vitamins

KEDIRI - A number of children participated in isolation in a building provided by the Government of the City of Kediri, East Java, as a centralized isolation location, precisely in the BLK Building in Kediri City.

The Mayor of Kediri, Abdullah Abu Bakar, stated that the condition of the children is currently good. He asked the children not to worry and to follow the directions of the health workers.

"It's okay, God willing, it will heal soon. Take the vitamins, eat a lot," he said in Kediri, quoted by Antara, Monday, July 19.

The mayor also had direct dialogue with the children who were self-isolating with their parents. Among the children who were invited to dialogue were Dewi Nawiya and Dewi Safira. Both are twins and Zaneta Dewi.

In the virtual dialogue, the Mayor also briefly asked the condition of the children, whether they were still sick or not.

He also did not hesitate to treat the children. The mayor hopes that they are always happy, and recover from their illness soon.

The mayor also sent gifts for the children so they don't feel bored during self-isolation. The parcel contained a bag so they could play.

"Has the bag sent there been opened or not? It can be made to study there. Later you can study there, you can learn while playing. The important thing is to be healthy, don't forget to pray too," he said during a dialogue with the children.

The Kediri City Government has a number of centralized self-isolation locations, which are used by residents who are confirmed positive for COVID-19 with mild symptoms.

They are being treated at the isolation location, one of which is to facilitate monitoring of their health. In addition, the location of the facilities at home is also inadequate to be used as a place of isolation.

A number of centralized self-isolation locations include the Kediri City BLK building and the Kediri City GNI. Currently, the BLK building has a capacity of about 70 beds.

The facilities provided at the centralized self-isolation location are also quite complete, starting from beds, bathrooms, prayer rooms, washing machines, drying areas, air conditioning, television, dispensers, kitchens, ambulances to treatment from medical personnel during the patient isolation process.

Acting Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Kediri Indun Munawaroh said the two centralized isolation places were built based on the direction of the Mayor of Kediri to facilitate asymptomatic patients whose homes are not suitable for self-isolation.

"There are several indicators that the patient's house is not suitable as a place for self-isolation, namely the lack of ventilation, insufficient rooms, inadequate bathrooms, and a high level of population density around," said Indun

Indun added that residents who were confirmed positive for COVID-19 could not come directly to the BLK without being accompanied by health workers from the puskesmas.

"Residents who will self-isolate in BLK, must report to the puskesmas first. Later the puskesmas will take them to BLK by ambulance. If the puskesmas does not have an ambulance, they can use the ambulance we have provided," he said.
