JAKARTA - Counterfeiting of antigen swab certificates and vaccination certificates is still rampant. Evidently, the police again arrested two perpetrators of document forgery related to COVID-19.

Currently, a total of 6 perpetrators have been arrested in cases of falsification of COVID-19 test documents.

"Six people we have told. Yesterday there were 4 and now there are 2 more, because they easily make fake vaccine cards and fake antigen letters, as well as several cards including BPJS cards, PCR from various reports and hospitals. Where do they market it through social media and their respective accounts," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus to reporters, Monday, July 19.

For the two perpetrators who had just been arrested, continued Yusri, the initials were RAR and TN. They use the mode of offering antigen swab letter forgery services and others through their Facebook account.

"His modus operandi (RAR) was to offer the results of antigen swab, PCR, and fake vaccines on his FB account under the name @ranimaharani," said Yusri.

"The second suspect is TN and he has the same modus operandi, through his FB account @satriatamaengbae, he also offers NPWP, BPJS, and fake vaccine cards," Yusri continued.

Based on the examination, these perpetrators faked by studying the original antigen swab and PCR letters. Then the perpetrator changed the name in the letter description with the name of the customer.

“He learns with existing reports and then applies it separately to be tagged and then that's what the data means from existing consumers. Then he offered for a cheaper PDF only, or a more expensive printed one," said Yusri.

The two perpetrators were charged with Article 35 Jo 51 of the ITE Law as well as Article 263 of the Criminal Code. The police also suspect the perpetrators under Article 32 Jo 48 of the ITE Law.
