Report Withdrawn, YouTuber Ferdian Paleka Free

JAKARTA - For almost a month, Ferdian Paleka and his colleagues have been behind bars over a case of video content distribution of fake aid deemed immoral. However, Ferdian can now breathe a sigh of relief at being declared free.

The release of this controversial YouTuber from the city of Bandung was after two victims, who were transgender, withdrew the report. They chose not to use criminal channels to solve the problem.

Head of the Badung Police Criminal Investigation Unit, AKBP Galih Indragiri, confirmed this. Ferdian Paleka and several of his colleagues have been released today or Thursday, June 4. With the withdrawal of the report by the victims, the investigator is obliged to stop the investigation.

The reason is that the case of fake aid distribution video content deemed immoral is a complaint offense. On that basis, Ferdian Paleka was released.

"Yes, that's right. We released Ferdian and friends this afternoon, basically the victims withdrew the report because the two parties had made peace and forgave each other," Galih said in his statement, Thursday, June 4.

The release of Ferdian Paleka, said Galih, had raised many questions. Especially from the transgender people in West Java. They deeply regretted the decision because Ferdian's actions greatly lowered one's self-esteem.

However, the transgender women did not demand the police to keep the controversial YouTuber jailed. So, Ferdian and his colleagues were still released.

"Of the transgender women all over West Java disagree and regret the withdrawal of the (report) because this kind of harassment will continue to be repeated," said Galih.

Before being released, Ferdian and his friends had applied for city prisoners, not cell prisoners. This was done because they claimed to have been bullied, aka being victims of hazing in the detention cell.

However, the answer from the police was not an application for city arrest. The police said they would examine the parties who bully Ferdian.

However, this is certainly not a problem for Ferdian and his friends. This is because at this time he is able to breathe free air because his report was revoked by the reporter.
