Poso's Security Is Questioned After The Shooting Case Has Occurred Again

JAKARTA - Two civilians were shot victims of unknown people in a forest area in Poso Regency, Central Sulawesi. This case is the second time in recent months.

The two people are Syarifuddin (37) and Firman (18). Both were shot while working in their garden in the Gayatri Mountains area, Maranda Village, Poso Pesisir Utara District.

Head of Penum for the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan, said that the Tinombala task force was holding the scene of the case to seek clues regarding the perpetrator.

"The Central Sulawesi Regional Police, the Tinombala Task Force and the Poso Polres conducted a crime scene and deepening activities located in the forest," Ahmad said in a press conference via YouTube, Wednesday, June 3.

Ahmad explained that the situation and conditions after the incident had been resolved and returned to normal. In addition, police personnel are still on guard to anticipate a similar action to occur again.

"In general, the situation in Poso is currently conducive and under control," said Ahmad.

Four Months Ago

A similar action took place on April 19. A farmer reportedly disappeared while gardening at the foot of Mount Kilo Village, Poso Regency, Central Sulawesi

Head of Public Relations of the Central Sulawesi Regional Police, Kombes Didik Suprantono, said that from the witness examination, gunshots had been heard. It is suspected that the perpetrator was the East Indonesia Mujahidin (MIT) group led by Ali Kalora.

Based on the results of post mortem and identification, the victims died not from gunshot wounds, but from the sharp weapons of the perpetrators.

Almost a week later, the Tinombala Task Force officers shot dead an MIT suspect, on Saturday, April 25. The body of the suspect who entered the DPO on Sunday evening was evacuated to Bhayangkara Hospital, Palu for an autopsy.
