Minister Of Manpower Ida Fauziyah Issues Circular On The Implementation Of Prokes In The Workplace

JAKARTA - Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah issued a Circular regarding the implementation of health protocols in the workplace. The circular was issued to support the implementation of the Emergency Community Activity Restriction (PPKM).

This was conveyed by the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Communication and Information, Dedi Permadi. He said the letter covered a number of things including the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination program.

"The circular includes vaccination efforts, procurement of masks and health equipment, provision of self-isolation facilities, and other things needed in relation to handling COVID-19 in the workplace," said Dedi in a written statement from the Committee for Handling COVID-19 and National Economic Recovery ( KPCPEN) quoted on Thursday, 15 July.

Furthermore, the government is also thinking of a number of other steps to address the derivative problems of the COVID-19 pandemic that have occurred in the employment sector, such as termination of employment (PHK) of employees.

To prevent this, said Dedi, the Coordinator of Emergency PPKM, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Panjaitan asked the Minister of Manpower to issue a regulation on the interpretation of working from home or WFH. This was requested to avoid differences of opinion regarding the system of working from home.

"This includes the definition of being laid off, which has the potential to have an impact on reducing wages for workers and workers," he said.

This policy was taken by considering the number of workers who are threatened with being laid off and being laid off. So, the government will take serious steps in this regard.

"The government is seriously drafting measures to avoid layoffs of employees and at the same time save the company," he concluded.
