Ministry Of Defense Training Center Transformed Into A COVID-19 Satellite Hospital, Prabowo Praises The Hard Work Of Handling Corona

JAKARTA - Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto reviewed the readiness of the Defense Management Education and Training Center and the Ministry of Defense's Badiklat Language Education and Training Center in Pondok Labu, South Jakarta. The Ministry of Defense's Education and Training Center has been transformed into a satellite hospital for Dr Suyoto Hospital, to serve COVID-19 patients.

"We are diverting several main activities. The existing facilities, especially the training education agency, we temporarily transfer our educational facilities. We stop the courses. Our students send them home, they carry out virtual courses. We turn the rooms into emergency hospitals," he said. The additional rooms located at the Jemenhan Education and Training Center and the Ministry of Defense Badiklat Puslanguage are urgently needed because currently the number of COVID-19 patients who come and are being treated at Dr. Suyoto Hospital with moderate to severe conditions has increased sharply and has caused patients not to be accommodated.

The Jemenhan Education and Training Center and the Language Training Center have a capacity of 172 rooms with a capacity of 344 beds.

As a satellite hospital, it will also prepare ICU and HCU rooms with two ventilators, and will be equipped with oxygen generators to support patients' oxygen needs.

This satellite hospital will also be equipped with the necessary medical personnel from Dr. Suyoto Hospital, including General Practitioners, Internal Medicine Specialists, Lung Specialists, and Anesthesiologists.

This satellite hospital will accommodate COVID-19 patients with moderate status.

In addition to reviewing the readiness of the Language Education and Training Center, the Minister of Defense in a press release stated that currently additional facilities are being prepared at the Salemba Ministry of Defense Education and Training Center, the State Defense Education and Training Center at Rumpin Bogor and Stand By Force Mess at IPSC, Sentul.

That way, the number of beds prepared by the Ministry of Defense to deal with the surge in COVID-19 cases has reached 1,650 beds in Jabodetabek.

"So, we have succeeded in adding approximately 1,650 beds in the near future. With the installation of ICU, emergency room, ventilator support, oxygen, and so on," Prabowo said.

During his visit, Defense Minister Prabowo also expressed his appreciation to the health workers who have been working, both organic health workers at Dr. Suyoto Hospital and supporting components.

"I see the hard efforts of the Ministry of Defense staff, doctors, health workers, many volunteers from the regions as supporting components. We have a health support component that has worked for more than a year at Suyoto Hospital, some of which we have moved here," he said. the former Danjen Kopassus.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr Suyoto Hospital, which is under the Ministry of Defense Rehabilitation Center in Bintaro, South Jakarta, has become a referral hospital for COVID-19 patients, both Ministry of Defense employees, TNI personnel and their families as well as the general public, with a percentage of patients from the general public around 80 percent.

Dr. Suyoto Hospital has a capacity of around 236 beds, but currently faced with a sharp increase in the number of patients, especially COVID-19 patients, so that adequate facilities and infrastructure are needed.

Currently Dr. Suyoto Hospital has added two tents in front of the Suyoto Emergency Room which accommodates 28 beds and another 40 beds in the dormitory, each equipped with central oxygen facilities.
