Anies Will Be Summoned By KPK Related To Land Corruption, Deputy Governor: I Believe Mr Anies Was Not Involved

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will summon DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan to ask for information regarding the land corruption case in Munjul.

In response to this, the Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria, defended Anies. Riza believes that Anies was not involved in the corrupt practices carried out by former Director of Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya, Yoory Pinontoan.

"As far as I know he is not involved. I don't know about the problem and I believe Mr. Anies is not involved in such cases," said Deputy Governor Riza at DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, July 14.

However, Deputy Governor Riza handed over the investigation into the corruption case for the Rp0 DP housing program to the KPK. However, he reiterated that Anies was not involved.

"Everything is under the authority of law enforcement. But I am sure, Pak Anies is far from being involved in the affairs there in Jakarta," said Riza.

Previously, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confirmed that it would send a summons to the DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan and the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Prasetyo Edi Marsudi.

Both of them were summoned to be investigated for the alleged corruption case of land acquisition in Munjul, Pondok Ranggon, Jakarta in 2019. Anies and Prasetyo's investigation is needed to clarify the alleged corruption that caused the state to lose up to Rp12.5 billion.

"Regarding the land acquisition program, of course, in the preparation of the DKI APBD budget program, the DKI Governor is very understanding as well as the DKI DPRD which has the task of authority to set the RAPBD into a APBD with the DKI Regional Government," said KPK Chair Firli Bahuri.

"So of course it is necessary to ask for information so that it becomes clear," he added.

Firli said that the KPK wants this case to be fully disclosed for the sake of legal certainty and to create a sense of justice and benefit for the community.

Therefore Firli ensured that his subordinates would work hard to investigate the alleged corruption and ensnare anyone involved, including from the legislative and executive elements.

"We will reveal all parties who are suspected of being involved, both from the legislative and executive circles. The budget for land acquisition is a huge loss to the state.
