Tangerang Ex-Mapolresta Building Prepared To Be A Place For Isolation Of COVID-19 Patients

TANGERANG - The Tangerang Regency Government, Banten, has prepared the former Tangerang City Resort Police Headquarters (Mapolresta) building to be a place or independent isolation room (isoman) for COVID-19 patients with asymptomatic status (OTG) to mild symptoms.

"I think the former Tangerang Police Headquarters building can be used as an alternative as a place of self-isolation for OTG patients, in particular also for members of the Polres who are confirmed and still positive, their families and the local community," said Tangerang District Secretary Moch Maesal Rasyid after directly inspected the facilities of the former Tangerang Police Headquarters building, in Tangerang, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, July 14.

He said the provision of places for COVID-19 patients with OTG status was carried out in order to reduce the transmission rate of the corona virus in the Tangerang Regency area, where the graph is currently increasing.

"So in connection with the high level of virus transmission, we are looking for places that can be used as self-isolation for OTG patients so that they can be controlled," he said.

Maesal revealed that the capacity of the former Mapolresta building can accommodate around 100 to 150 beds and is expected to support the self-isolation shelter at the Yasmin Hotel which is already overloaded.

His party will also immediately fulfill the completeness of the room that is used as a place of isolation with equipment such as mattresses, pillows for patient rest. Then, there is a kitchen, a bathroom, a place for ablution and a place for prayer.

"Soon we will prepare the equipment, so that in the not too distant future, this building can immediately function as a place for self-isolation for OTG patients," he said.

In addition, Maesal emphasized that the Tangerang Regency Government will continue to seek solutions to meet the availability of self-isolation places for COVID-19 patients by encouraging all Task Forces in the sub-districts in the region.

"We will certainly continue to strive and not stop looking for places of self-isolation to reduce the number of COVID-19 transmission," he said.
