10 Days Babies In Bangka Positive For COVID-19, Now There Are A Total Of 22 Babies Exposed To Corona

BANGKA - The COVID-19 Task Force (Satgas) of Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, noted that a baby with the initials Kmp aged 10 days was exposed to COVID-19.

Spokesman for the Bangka Regency COVID-19 Task Force, Boy Yandra, said that Kmp was exposed to COVID-19 based on the results of a health test that had a history of contact with his parents who had tested positive for COVID-19.

"Kmp from Pemali District is experiencing shortness of breath and is currently undergoing intensive health care at the Bangka Belitung provincial general hospital," he said, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, July 14.

He said that until now the total number of infants or children under the age of one year who were confirmed positive for COVID-19 reached 22 babies spread across a number of sub-districts.

"Of the total 5,166 COVID-19 cases, the most are in the age group of 20 to 44 years, reaching 2,434, the rest are infants, toddlers, children and the elderly," he said.

Boy Yandra reminded his citizens, especially those who have babies and toddlers, to strictly implement health protocols and strive to maintain a distance for people who know who are positive for COVID-19.

"The spread of COVID-19 cases has targeted all age levels, this condition must really be paid attention to by the whole community by increasing the implementation of health programs," said Boy Yandra.

In fact, he said, out of 100 COVID-19 patients who died, one toddler died aged 1.5 years from Sungailiat District.
