Free Vaccination In South Solok Stops Due To Out Of COVID-19 Vaccine Supplies

JAKARTA - The free vaccination service in South Solok Regency, West Sumatra, has been temporarily suspended because the stock of COVID-19 vaccine in the area has run out.

"We've asked for another 5.000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine to the province, but we haven't had it yet because the provincial stocks haven't arrived yet", said Head of the Surveillance and Immunization Section of the South Solok Health Service, Mega Verta Christina in Padang Aro, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, July 14.

According to her, additional supplies of COVID-19 vaccine from the central government are scheduled to arrive at the West Sumatra Province pharmacy warehouse on Wednesday.

"After the vaccine arrived in South Solok, we immediately reopened the service (vaccination) to the community", she said.

She explained that on Monday, July 12, the South Solok Regency Government provided vaccination services using the remaining 200 doses of vaccine stock from the National Armed Force (TNI) and after that, the vaccination service was temporarily suspended.

According to her, the need for COVID-19 vaccines to serve residents in the South Solok area is around 600 to 900 doses per day.

In the South Solok area, according to government data, as of Monday, July 12, 12.360 people who had received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and those who had completed vaccination or received two injections of the new vaccine were 3.205 or 2.2 percent of the target 143.149 people.

In the group of human resources in the health sector, complete vaccinations have been given to 922 people or 94 percent of the target and in the group of workers in the public service sector, there are 2.236 people or 22 percent of the target who have completed vaccination.

The target of vaccination services for the general population is 100.056 people, with details of 5.294 people having received the first dose of vaccine and 29 people having finished their vaccination.

Vaccination targets for the elderly population are 12.301 people, with 402 people receiving the first dose of vaccine and 18 people receiving two doses of the vaccine.

In the group of children aged 12 to 17 years, the number of vaccination targets was 19.812 people and only 118 of them received the first dose of vaccine.
