964 Kg Sacrificial Cow From Jokowi For Parigi Moutong, Central Sulawesi

PALU - President Joko Widodo bought a cow in Southeast Sulawesi to be sacrificed on Eid al-Adha 1442 Hijri 2021 in Baliara Village, West Parigi District, Parigi Moutong. This sacrificial cow from Jokowi weighs 964 kilograms.

"The cows ordered by the President are ready to belong to farmers in Sausu Torino Village, Parigi Moutong Regency", said Head of Livestock at the Central Sulawesi Plantation and Livestock Service, Sultan Nisa, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, July 13.

Nisa explained that the 964-kilogram sacrificial animal was bought by President Joko Widodo for IDR 65 million, which is a superior Brahman breed that is widely developed by breeders in the country.

Before being bought, she said, his party informed the breeders who have superior class cattle who often win cattle contests in several districts in the province.

"From several selected sacrificial animals, there is only one cow that is considered to meet the requirements. Because the sacrificial animal must not be disabled and in good health", said Nisa.

The president's sacrificial cow has gone through a series of physical and health checks by veterinarians.

The plan is for the sacrificial animals to be slaughtered the day after Eid al-Adha in Baliara Village, West Parigi District, Parigi Moutong according to the location designated by the government through the People's Welfare Bureau of the Central Sulawesi Provincial Government.

"The weight requirements for the President's sacrificial animal are 800-1,000 kilograms and we got the sacrificial animal according to the requirements of 964 kilograms", Nisa added.

Currently, the owner of the livestock continues to strive to increase the weight and maintain the physical condition and health of the animal sacrificed by the President by providing regular feed so that the quality of the meat will be better when slaughtered later.

"With such a heavyweight, we recommend that the sacrificial animals be transported to the slaughterhouse later by the livestock owners because they know the transportation techniques", said Nisa.
