CIANJUR - The Cianjur District Court, West Java, tried 94 cases of minor criminal offenses related to Emergency Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM). A fine of up to IDR 47.2 million has been collected which will be handed over to the West Java provincial treasury.

Cianjur District Court Public Relations Officer, Donovan Akbar, said the violators were four large companies, namely PT Pou Yuen, Ramayana, BNI, and PT TEI Garment, while the rest were shop and food stall owners.

"During the emergency PPKM, four companies and the rest were private traders who were tried with fines ranging from tens of thousands of rupiah to tens of millions of rupiah for a total of 94 cases of violations", he said, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, July 13.

Most violators are given a time limit to think about paying the imposed fine or 2 days imprisonment. However, most paid the fine and none opted for corporal confinement.

Meanwhile, Kasatpol PP Cianjur Hendri Prasetyadi said the total violators had collected a fine of IDR 47.2 million with details of fines of millions of rupiah against factory managers or the company and fines ranging from IDR 50,000 to IDR 250,000 to shop or food stall owners.

"The fines for violators are not the same, for companies, there are IDR 10 million, some are IDR 8 million, while for small business actors there are IDR 50 thousand to IDR 250 thousand", he said.

The fine money collected, he said, will be handed over to the West Java Provincial Treasury and will be used again for socializing the handling of COVID-19 in various regions in West Java, including in Cianjur.

Hendri appealed to the public, including factory managers, to continue to apply strict procedures because this is in the interests and health of all.

"The war effort against the Coronavirus can be maximized so that Cianjur is free from COVID-19", he said.
