Emergency PPKM Field: Starting Tomorrow 6 City Entrances Are Blocked, Vehicles Will Be Inspected

PADANG - The Padang City Government has imposed seals on six entrances to the city in the context of implementing Emergency-Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM) starting Tuesday, July 13.

"Starting tomorrow July 13 all vehicles entering and leaving Padang City will be inspected", said Padang Mayor, Hendri Septa, quoted by Antara, Monday, July 12.

The blockade was carried out at six locations of the Padang City entrance, namely Kayu Kalek Lubuk Buaya and Anak Air Bypass, the Solok Padang entrance in Lubuk Paraku, the Padang-South Coastal entrance, Bungus Harbor, and Muara port.

Residents who want to enter the city of Padang must show a vaccine certificate at least the first vaccine, show the results of the PCR or antigen swab test.

However, he said, there were exceptions for crews of logistics vehicles and goods transportation.

"Vehicles that are allowed to enter the city of Padang are essential sector vehicles, such as medical personnel, doctors, nurses, vehicles that transport basic goods, and so on", he said.

He said that the border posts would be guarded by the TNI/Police and the Padang City Government Civil Apparatus.

This isolation post will be guarded for 24 hours by officers who are divided into three shifts and is valid until July 20, 2021.

He explained that the blocking post officers would check people entering and leaving the city of Padang.

In addition, the Padang City Government also stipulates that all non-essential office activities are closed or carry out a 100 percent work from home (WFH) policy.

"It is with a heavy heart that we convey to residents that all non-essential office activities are required to carry out WFH starting tomorrow", he said.

An essential sector offices, all employees continue to work as usual by implementing 50 percent WFH.

These essential sectors include finance and banking offices, capital markets, payment systems, technology, information and communication, hotels, non-quarantine handling, and export-oriented industries.
