The Process Is Fast, Nia Ramadhani And Ardi Are Officially Undergoing Rehabilitation

JAKARTA - The police said that Nia Ramadhani and her husband, Ardi Bakrie, were officially undergoing rehabilitation. This is because the results of the two assessments are stated only as users.

"Yes, that's the case. Because from the results of the assessment and examination, they are users," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Head Kompol Indraweny Panjiyoga to reporters, Sunday, July 11.

The husband and wife have been undergoing rehabilitation since Sunday, July 11, at the National Narcotics Agency. However, there is no explanation about the rehabilitation period that both of them have to undergo.

"Yes, we will hand it over to BNN," he said.

On the previous occasion, lawyers for Nia Ramadhani and Ardi Bakrie, Wa Ode Nur Zaenab said they would apply for rehabilitation. Because, the actions of his two clients must be resolved through medical treatment.

"We have prepared a rehabilitation proposal. In the near future an assessment can be carried out by the police and rehabilitation can be given," said Wa Ode.

According to Wa Ode, the roles of Nia and Ardi in this case of drug abuse are users or victims.

Therefore, rehabilitation must be given to victims so that they as users can stop consuming.

"Rehabilitation must be given to the victim. Because this is a victim, medical treatment must be given, of course there is treatment (treatment) so that the victim can return to the community," he said.

However, Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Hengki Haryadi said he would continue to process the drug abuse cases they committed to the court.

"If there is a rehabilitation decision as required in Article 54 of Law No. 35 of 2009, the file is not discontinued. We will continue, take it to court, the judge will give a verdict later," said Hengki.

Hengki explained that Law No. 35 of 2009 on Narcotics does require that drug users are required to be rehabilitated. Article 54 of Law No. 35/2009 states that "narcotics addicts and victims of narcotics abuse must undergo medical and social rehabilitation."

Hengki stated that at this time there had been a request from the extended family of Nia and Ardi for both of them to be rehabilitated. However, he emphasized that the rehabilitation decision would be carried out by an integrated assessment team from the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) consisting of the National Police, Attorney General's Office, doctors and psychiatrists, who were not from the Central Jakarta Metro Police investigation team.

Nia Ramadhani was arrested at his residence in the Pondok Indah area, South Jakarta. He was arrested after the police arrested his driver with the initials ZN on Wednesday, July 7, at around 15.00 WIB.

As for her husband, Ardi Bakrie, the police said he had surrendered. Ardi Bakrie came to the Central Jakarta Metro Police after being contacted by his wife, Nia Ramadhani.
