Dwi Sasono Could Be Sentenced To 5 Years In Prison

JAKARTA - The South Jakarta Metro Police has arrested actor Dwi Sasono for alleged possession of 16 grams of cannabis. The marijuana was also confiscated by the police in the arrest.

Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Sr. Comr. Yusri Yunus, said that Widi Mulia's husband got marijuana from someone with the initials C, who is currently being chased. So that the police have not been able to reveal who C is meant.

"(Based on, red) his confession (Dwi Sasono consumed marijuana, ed) for one month," said Yusri in an official statement, Jakarta, Monday 1 June.

Based on the information obtained by investigators from Dwi, he admitted that he consumed marijuana to fill his spare time. In fact, he consumed marijuana without his wife knowing.

"The motive he conveyed to investigators, first to fill the time gap, there is one problem for this suspect, he is indeed having trouble sleeping with the activities during this COVID-19 he is at home," said Yusri.

He said that currently investigators are still investigating Dwi's confession of marijuana ownership. In addition, investigators also carry out other examinations, such as hair examinations. This is done according to the applicable procedure.

"(Examination, we) urine is positive. Later there are more stages, checking," he said.

For his actions, Dwi Sasono was suspected of violating Article 114 paragraph (1) subsidiary Article 111 of the Narcotics Law with a minimum sentence of five years.

However, Yusri stated that Dwi's attorney had filed a suspension of detention against his client.
