Sharing Love In Banyuwangi, Delivery Of Kebuli Rice For Self-Isolating Residents

BANYUWANGI - Daily cases of COVID-19 in Banyuwangi, East Java continue to increase. Many residents choose to self-isolate after being exposed to the new corona virus.

Moved by the number of residents who are self-isolating, restaurant entrepreneurs donate food to residents who are at home due to exposure to COVID-19.

It is Saugik, the owner of the Dapoer Umma restaurant, on Jalan Batur, Singotrunan, Banyuwangi. He provides 15 servings of rice with kebuli and goat rice menus to the residents of Banyuwangi City.

This assistance was carried out after an online motorcycle taxi driver told him when he took an order. The ojol driver said five times a day he delivered food to customers who were self-isolating.

"He said that he sent all five isoman houses today, he said Banyuwangi was in serious condition," said Saugik, Friday, July 9.

From this story, Saugik decided to provide 15 servings per day to residents who are self-isolating due to COVID-19.

"I share on social media, maybe those who know or know if there are friends or family members, I want to help support food for the next few days. This is according to my ability," he said.

This action, continued Saugik, was purely to share with people in need. He hopes that the COVID-19 pandemic will end soon so that life can return to normal.

"It's simple, just share so that more or less there is a contribution to friends," he said.

Prepared food is delivered to residents via courier. The food is then placed on the fence or door of the residents.

"If someone has recovered, it will be transferred to someone else," he said.

The restaurant, said Saugik, currently does not serve meals on the premises. All sales are made online to suppress the spread of COVID-19.

Meanwhile, as of Thursday, July 8, there were 113 new cases of COVID-19 in Banyuwangi. The cumulative number of cases was 8,008, 779 died, 6,576 recovered, and 653 active cases.
