JAKARTA - LeBron James and other well-known athletes also voiced their anger at the death of black man from Minnesota, George Floyd, who died after having his neck trampled by local police. James protested the brutality of the authorities and the racism that occurred.

Through his Instagram account, James uploaded a photo of Floyd, whose neck was being held by the authorities and was juxtaposed with NFL midfielder Colin Kaepernick, who was kneeling when the national anthem was played. This is a form of allusion to police brutality and acts of racism that have occurred.

James is known to be outspoken in voicing out social issues, especially regarding police brutality. James also made a post via Instagram Story containing a photo of Floyd's arrest. On the upload James wrote: We are being hunted.

Besides James, a former NBA player, Stephen Jackson uploaded a similar thing about Floyd's death. A number of other well-known athletes, such as NFL stars, Odell Beckham Jr. and DeMarcus Lawrence, NBA stars Jaylen Brown and Donovan Mitchell also tweeted about their disappointment over Floyd's death.

Meanwhile, Kaepernick, whose photo was uploaded by James, also uploaded an Instagram Story containing a picture of Floyd's arrest and a photo of himself kneeling during the national anthem. The first such post was made by former NFL player Nathan Palmer via his Twitter account.

Previously, George Floyd (46) died Monday night, May 25 local time when arrested by the Minneapolis police. The video that recorded the incident showed Floyd, whose neck was seated by the police, moaned in pain and was not breathing. Not long after, the screams stopped. Floyd is dead.

The FBI and local authorities are still investigating Floyd's death. Because of this incident, hundreds of residents took to the streets to stage demonstrations. Clashes between demonstrators and security forces also occurred.
