DENPASAR - Bali Police's Director of Criminal Investigation, Kombespol Djuhandhani Rahardjo Puro, confirmed that he would take action on social media accounts that provoked the implementation of the emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM).

Actions include those carried out on social media accounts that are buzzing about the COVID-19 conspiracy if the intention is to hinder government policies.

"If we think there is (COVID-19) and people broadcast that it is a conspiracy with the aim of hindering government policies, we will certainly act," said Kombes Rahardjo, when confirmed Tuesday, July 6.

"The adage of people's safety is the highest law or Salus Populi Suprema Lex Esto, it should be the main guideline or even become the basic principle for all components of the Indonesian nation in everyday life," he said.

Kombes Rahardjo said another effort from the legal task force was to conduct investigations and carry out take down efforts against all who provoked them through social media.

"And we convey, we will not hesitate to carry out law enforcement when there are people or community groups or representatives who provoke this emergency PPKM activity," he said.

According to him, it must be realized that the condition of the spike in COVID-19 cases is increasingly worrying. Therefore, emergency PPKM is enforced

"Therefore, what is done is only one thing to maintain safety and provide protection to the community. Frankly, I will hit anything if I violate this," he said.

Kombes Rahardjo said he had monitored dozens of social media accounts and asked not to provoke during emergency PPKM and to trust the government.

"There are dozens that are being monitored, every day there are developments. We ask the whole community not to provoke and trust the government. Because the government takes the health emergency route and our goal from the government is to maintain the safety of the community, there is no other goal," he said.

"It's not just the summons (the owner of the social media account who is provoking). We will act according to the law and this has been emphasized by the Police Headquarters and so on. We will take firm action according to the law. If there is a crime, we will definitely act," said Kombes Rahardjo .
