After Being Noisy On Social Media, Foreign Workers From China Who Entered South Sulawesi Are Now Quarantined

BANTAENG - Foreign Workers (TKA) from China are still in quarantine after the antigen swab test and Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) were carried out in Bantaeng Regency, South Sulawesi, which is the destination for work at PT Huady Nickel Alloy.

"After being swab immediately upon arrival in Bantaeng, the 20 foreign workers were quarantined while waiting for the results of the swab," said Bantaeng COVID-19 Task Force Spokesperson Dr Andi Ihsan as quoted by Antara, Monday, July 5.

According to him, an antigen swab examination was carried out at the weekend and it turned out that all of the workers were negative.

Meanwhile, to confirm further, a PCR test was carried out, the results of which are expected to be known tonight.

He said efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 would continue to be carried out, therefore as long as the results of the PCR swab have not been published, the foreign workers are not allowed to work at PT Huady.

Therefore, he continued, the prospective workers were not allowed to roam around, but had to remain in the rusunawa of the smelter company.

Ihsan said that his party had also requested documents for the completeness of the vaccines for the foreign workers, and all of them were equipped with vaccine certificates.

Previously, the Acting Governor of South Sulawesi Andi Sudirman Sulaiman had ordered the Head of the South Sulawesi Manpower Office to investigate the permits and requirements for the existence of the foreign workers in accordance with applicable regulations.

According to him, although the permit for foreign workers while working in Indonesia is under the authority of the central government or through the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower, his party also has to check the documents and prokes requirements that are procedures in the field.
