BANDARLAMPUNG - The Lampung High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) received several assets belonging to a corruption convict, Sugiarto Wiharjo alias Alay, which were used to pay state losses amounting to Rp95 billion.

"They agreed to deliver the assets through a letter and it was given directly by the AGO's Asset Recovery Center (PPA), which happened to be visiting Lampung at the time," said Head of the Legal Information Section (Kasipenkum) of the Lampung Attorney General's Office, Andrie W Setiawan in Bandarlampung, quoted by Antara, Friday, July 2nd.

Andrie explained that the assets were then handed over to PPA through legal counsel Alay, Awi and Bank Multiarta Sentosa (MAS).

Following up from PPA itself, continued Andrie, PPA has submitted to the Bandarlampung District Attorney (Kejari) to block the assets which will later be auctioned.

"Technically we don't know who is conducting the auction for the Bandarlampung Kejari or PPA," he said.

Andrie added that the assets are in the form of land and buildings worth Rp190 billion. After the auction, it will be paid for state losses and the rest will be handed over to Bank MAS and Alay.

"After all state losses are completed, the rest will be handed over to Alay and Bank MAS," he said.
