Ganjar Supports Sanctions For Regional Heads Who Don't Implement Emergency PPKM

SEMARANG - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo supports the plan to impose strict sanctions for regional heads who do not participate in implementing the implementation of emergency community activity restrictions (PPKM) from July 3 to 20.

"I agree that it can be done simultaneously, it can be sanctioned like that, in the Regional Government Law it is possible. If you don't carry out an order that has been regulated in the regulations, you can get sanctions," said Ganjar Pranowo in Semarang, quoted by Antara, Friday, July 2.

According to Ganjar, there should be no regional head in Central Java who does not implement emergency PPKM because strict sanctions await, ranging from verbal warnings, written warnings, to temporary dismissal for 3 months.

Regarding the implementation of emergency PPKM in Central Java, Ganjar has ordered all regents/mayors in Central Java to participate and comply with the regulation.

All regions in Central Java province are set to implement emergency PPKM with details of 13 districts/cities entering the level 4 pandemic assessment and the rest entering the level 3 pandemic assessment.

"We don't need to talk about zones, the main thing is that in Central Java everyone follows the rules so that people know when malls are closed, tourist and entertainment places are closed, what are the operating hours of essential and critical sectors like. If everyone supports and implements it, people will understand," he said. .

Ganjar said that in some areas in Central Java, there were differences in decision-making, namely that there was one region that had strict regulations but the other region relaxed it.

"For example, in one area a tourist area is closed but the area next to it allows it. People flock to the area that opened it, returning to the area of origin carrying the disease. It can't be like that anymore," he said.

Ganjar emphasized that there should no longer be stories like yesterday, namely there are regional heads who make their own rules that are not in accordance with the rules of the central government.

"It's no longer allowed to say, I'm responsible, just leave my place like this, it's not allowed. If it's not implemented, I'll be penalized. So yesterday I spoke with friends from the regent/mayor and I asked everyone to do it. They all agreed," he said.

The Central Java Provincial Government together with the TNI/Polri will secure the implementation of the emergency PPKM in Central Java so that the target for reducing the spread of cases can be achieved.

"Don't forget to also increase testing, there are no regents/mayors saying the area is safe, green. The evaluation is not the zone being green, what size is your testing now. The red zone is okay, as long as testing and tracing are good because this is the best difficult," he said.
