Doni Monardo Appreciates Wisma Atlet Emergency Hospital Staff

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling COVID-19, Doni Monardo, appreciated the performance of the officers at the Wisma Atlet Emergency Hospital. Including officers who prepare food for COVID-19 patients.

Doni, who is also the Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), admitted that there were many reports of those being treated at the Wisma Atlet Emergency Hospital. Patients are happy with good food facilities.

Doni hopes that food service to patients in the hospital will be maintained. According to him, food is very important for the recovery process of COVID-19 patients.

"If the food is good, patients will increase their immunity. And automatically will be able to survive defeating the Covid virus which can eventually recover, "said Doni during a visit to Wisma Atlet Emergency Hospital, Jakarta, Monday, May 25.

Doni's fish food menu was a concern some time ago. The idea to bring fresh fish from Maluku materialized for the patients at Wisma Atlet Hospital. He asked Garuda Indonesia to transport 100 kg of fish from Ambon to Jakarta. Then the freshly packed fish are sent to the Wisma Atlet Emergency Hospital kitchen.

"Especially the fish menu can be developed continuously. Patients receive quality food. Make sure the food contains lots of protein and vitamins, "he said.

This afternoon Doni and the National Task Force team visited the work units under the management of the Wisma Atlet Emergency Hospital, such as radiology, mental health, surveillance, patient registration and call center units.

The Wisma Atlet Emergency Hospital, which has been active since March 23, 2020, has treated more than 3,900 people. Until Sunday (24/5) the number of patients reached 963, consisting of 623 male patients and 340 female patients.

Of the existing patients, patients were categorized based on 700 positive swab results, 237 positive rapid tests, 20 patients under surveillance (PDP) and the remaining people under monitoring (ODP).

Meanwhile, the Wisma Atlet Emergency Hospital is operated by a joint team from the TNI, Polri, Ministry of Health, medical personnel and volunteers. The total strength of the personnel on duty is 1,624 people.
