JAKARTA - The TNI is ready to help vaccinate 10,000 people per day at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) Kemayoran COVID-19 vaccination center.

"Currently, we carry out 10,000 in this place per day and this will take place every day," said TNI Commander Marshal TNI Hadi Tjahjanto while reviewing the vaccination implementation at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, June 29.

The TNI has deployed tens of members and hundreds of students of special career officers for health workers to assist in the implementation of vaccinations which were jointly held by the Indonesian Buddhist Representative (Walubi), TNI Headquarters, the Indonesian Ministry of Health, and the Healthy Living Community Movement (Germas).

There are 30 TNI health workers and 129 TNI health worker career officers who are vaccinators in the implementation of COVID-19 vaccination at JIExpo. Meanwhile, 30 other health workers are from Walubi.

Not only deploying its health workers, the TNI also assists in securing and implementing the vaccination process, including arranging the queues for residents who will receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

The COVID-19 vaccination center at JIExpo, in Hall C and D3, has been open since Monday, June 28 and will continue to operate until July 4, 2021.

The TNI Commander, when giving a statement after reviewing the implementation of the vaccination, said that the police would also mobilize health workers and their troops.

"Similarly from the Police, tomorrow will increase the strength of Polri members, join this place to be given a briefing (training) for one day, then we will spread it to their respective regions," explained the Commander.

Marshal Hadi said that his party was ready to meet the target given by the government, namely vaccinating 200,000 people per day to meet the vaccination target of one million people per day.

"The target given by the Minister of Health (Minister of Health, ed) is that one day the TNI must be able to carry out 200,000 vaccinations in all regions. The police are also 200,000 so that 400,000 are carried out by the TNI and Polri every day. 600,000 will be carried out by a joint effort of local governments and health workers," said the Commander.
