BENGKULU - Kaur Police Chief, Bengkulu, AKBP Dwi Agung Setyono reminded the public to be aware of the theft of livestock, which usually increases ahead of Eid al-Adha 1442 Hijri/2021.

"Usually before Eid al-Adha, theft of livestock, especially cattle and goats, will increase compared to normal days. For that we ask and appeal to residents to be more vigilant," said Dwi in Bengkulu, Antara, Monday, June 28.

The police chief said there are several tips that the community can do to keep livestock safe from theft. First, don't let livestock go too far, making it difficult to monitor.

Second, add a safety lock on the cage door and add lighting in the area around the cage.

Dwi said that his party had mapped areas that were prone to theft of livestock ahead of the Eid al-Adha celebrations.

"The perpetrators of this theft often use opportunities when the livestock owners are careless. Also the perpetrators do not think long and immediately commit crimes by stealing the animal, maybe some of them even have a plan," he said.

To prevent the theft of livestock, his party will increase routine patrol activities, especially to rural areas.

However, he asked the community from today to start reviving the environmental security system by carrying out night patrols to maximize security.

"We from the security side will try to carry out patrols in rural areas that are prone to theft. But of course we don't just carry out patrols alone, we need the support of all parties," said the Kaur Police Chief.
