BEM UI Admits Social Media Accounts Hacked After Criticism Of Jokowi, Police: Please Report La

JAKARTA - The National Police has invited the management of the University of Indonesia Student Executive Board (BEM UI) to make a police report (LP). This was in the aftermath of the alleged hacking of BEM UI's social media accounts after criticizing President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

"Please report," said the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Argo Yuwono, to reporters, Monday, June 28.

However, Argo did not comment further on the alleged cybercrime. He only emphasized that anyone who feels they are a victim of a criminal act should report it to law enforcement officials.

Meanwhile, BEM UI gave sharp criticism to President Joko Widodo by calling him the 'King of Lip Service'.

This criticism was shared on various social media belonging to BEM UI, from Twitter to Instagram. In his upload, the student executive body highlighted various promises made by Jokowi that were not kept and said that the former governor of DKI Jakarta often made promises.

"JOKOWI: THE KING OF LIP SERVICE. Hello, UI and Indonesia! Jokowi often sells his sweet promises, but the reality is often not in harmony. He said this, the fact was that," was quoted from the BEM MUI Instagram account.

Various promises ranging from the issue of revising the ITE Law to strengthening the KPK are considered inconsistent. "Everything indicates that the words that were uttered were nothing more than a form of lip service," they asserted.

In the aftermath of this upload, the Rector of the University of Indonesia summoned the BEM UI management on Sunday, June 28 yesterday. There were 10 people who were called, including the Chairman of BEM UI, Leon Alvinda Putra.
