JAKARTA - The Boyolali Police Investigative Team is still pursuing the perpetrator of the persecution case by burning the victim's body, Bintang Alfatah (55) in Tempuran Hamlet, Simo Village, Simo District, Boyolali Regency, Central Java.

"The perpetrator of the abuse case, namely Maryono alias Dogol (50), a resident of Hamlet Tempuran RT015, Simo District. The perpetrator has fled from his house and is still being chased by officers," said Head of the Simo Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Aiptu Budiarto in Boyolali, quoted from Antara , Monday, June 28.

The incident took place on Saturday, June 26 at around 13.00 WIB. The trigger is allegedly buying and selling houses between the victim, Bintang Alfatah and the perpetrator, Maryono alias Dogol.

At that time, the victim asked the house where the perpetrator lived and had been bought by the victim five years ago. However, the perpetrators have not vacated the house for five years. When asked for clarity, the perpetrator did not answer and suddenly began to abuse the victim by burning the victim.

Budiarto said the perpetrator poured Pertalite fuel on the victim's body and set it on fire using a lighter. The victim suffered burns all over his body almost 50 percent.

With his body burned, the victim ran and asked for help from local residents until he was finally taken to the Simo Regional General Hospital (RSUD) for treatment.

The perpetrator seemed to have prepared everything, both the fuel used and the bag containing the clothes he wanted to use to escape.

At the location of the case, the police collected a number of evidences in the form of remaining pertalite type fuel oil in bottles of mineral water, gas lighters, the remains of the victim's t-shirt that was burned. In fact, the mobile phone belonging to the perpetrator who was left at his house was also confiscated as evidence.

"The perpetrators did that, the modus operandi is allegedly related to the sale and purchase of land and buildings whose dealings with the victims have not been completed," said Budiarto.

For the act of the persecution case, the perpetrator can be charged with Article 187 paragraph 2, in conjunction with Article 351 of the Criminal Code with a threat of 12 years to 15 years in prison.
