JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Provincial Secretary Marullah Matali said that his party added two flats as locations for the isolation of COVID-19 patients.

Previously, the DKI Provincial Government had opened isolation locations at the Nagrak Cilincing Flats, East Jakarta, and Pasar Rumput Flats, South Jakarta.

This is done in order to accommodate the increasing number of COVID-19 isolation patients. Recently, the daily cases of COVID-19 in Jakarta have soared to a new record.

"In the not too distant future, yesterday we (reviewed) the Daan Mogot Flats, then also the Flats in Pulo Gebang, and several other flats," Marullah said on the BNPB Pusdalops Youtube show, quoted Monday, June 28.

Currently, the DKI Provincial Government is conducting data collection regarding the preparation of isolation facilities and adequate bed capacity to accommodate patients in the two flats.

"Now we are inventorying several places that we might be able to use to become self-isolation places for COVID-19 patients," he said.

Marullah admitted that the DKI Provincial Government is currently trying to increase the number of isolation beds for COVID-19 patients in the midst of a spike in cases.

This is because the bed occupancy ratio (BOR) for isolation beds for COVID-19 patients currently reaches 93 percent. Meanwhile, the BOR for ICU beds reached 87 percent.

Therefore, Marullah also asked the central government, especially BNPB, to again facilitate hotels as locations for the isolation of COVID-19 patients in the capital.

"If possible, the hotel for OTG will be revived, outside the location prepared by the local government. This is our suggestion," said Marullah.

Previously, BNPB financed the isolation location of COVID-19 patients with the category of asymptomatic people (OTG) in hotels. However, it is currently discontinued because it no longer has a budget.

"Some time ago we received assistance such as from BNPB. Hopefully, in the future period, there will be additional hotels for us to self-isolate for OTG," he said.
