Accounts Of A Number Of BEM UI Managers Hacked Due To The Upload Of Jokowi The King Of Lip Service

JAKARTA - A number of administrators of the University of Indonesia Student Executive Board (BEM UI) have had their social media accounts hacked. The hack occurred after Jokowi's upload The King of Lip Service uploaded by the BEM UI social media account became polemic.

"There has been a hacking of social media accounts for several BEM UI 2021 administrators," said BEM UI Chair Leon Alvinda Putra in a written statement, Monday, June 28.

He said one of the victims of the hack was Tiara, who is the Head of the Public Relations Bureau of BEM UI 2021. Tiara's WhatsApp account was hacked at around 00:56 WIB and until now it has not been accessible again.

The second victim is the Deputy Chairperson of BEM UI Yogie. Even though it was saved, the WhatsApp account was detected as being used on another cellphone.

The hack also happened to the Coordinator for the Social and Environmental Affairs of BEM UI, Naifah Uzlah. Leon said there was an attempt to log into Naifah's Telegram account in the middle of the night.

In addition, the Head of the Action and Propaganda Department of BEM UI, Syahrul Badri, also experienced the attack. His Instagram account experienced a restriction after uploading an instastory regarding the summons of BEM UI functionaries by the UI rectorate. As a result, the account exists but cannot be used by the owner.

"We strongly condemn all forms of digital attacks carried out on the BEM UI management," said Leon.

For information, BEM UI gave sharp criticism to President Joko Widodo by calling him the 'King of Lip Service'.

This criticism was shared on various social media belonging to BEM UI, from Twitter to Instagram. In his upload, the student executive body highlighted various promises made by Jokowi that were not kept and said that the former governor of DKI Jakarta often made promises.

"JOKOWI: THE KING OF LIP SERVICE. Hello, UI and Indonesia! Jokowi often sells his sweet promises, but the reality is often not in harmony. He said this, the fact was that," was quoted from the BEM MUI Instagram account.

Various promises ranging from the issue of revising the ITE Law to strengthening the KPK are considered inconsistent. "Everything indicates that the words that were uttered were nothing more than a form of lip service," they asserted.

In the aftermath of this upload, the Rector of the University of Indonesia summoned the BEM UI management on Sunday, June 28 yesterday. There were 10 people who were called, including the Chairman of BEM UI, Leon Alvinda Putra.
