JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of Central Java Taj Yasin Maimoen (Gus Yasin) asked the public not to underestimate the dangers of COVID-19. Residents are asked to obey health protocols because the transmission is now getting worse.

"Please maintain the health protocol, anyone can be exposed, no matter who he is," said Gus Yasin, through a video recording uploaded to the Instagram account @tajyasinmz quoted by Antara, Wednesday, June 23.

According to the son of the late charismatic cleric KH Maimoen Zubaer, COVID-19 does not indiscriminately attack anyone.

In the 1 minute 21 second video, Gus Yasin announced that he was exposed to COVID-19 and is currently undergoing treatment at RSUP dr. Kariadi, Semarang.

"Alhamdulillah, I feel good, I have been allowed to self-isolate, I am at Kariadi Hospital together with Mas Madika, his father is one of the COVID-19 health teams in Central Java," he said

Gus Yasin revealed that there are still people who say COVID-19 is not for officials.

"But I was hit, but thank God I have recovered and live in self-isolation," he said.

In addition, Gus Yasin prayed for the people of Central Java to be given health and to avoid COVID-19.

"I pray that all residents of Central Java are healthy, thank you to the nurses for their services," he said.
