In The Anies Baswedan Region, Social Minister Risma Help Fulfill The Protein Intake Of Residents Against COVID-19

JAKARTA - Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Tri Rismaharini helps fulfill protein intake for the people of DKI Jakarta and its surroundings by distributing boiled eggs. These boiled eggs are expected to meet the protein needs of the people led by Governor Anies Baswedan at this time.

A total of 5,500 people received two boiled eggs each. Eggs are distributed through Social Welfare Institutions (LKS) and RT/RW around the Ministry of Social Affairs Office, Jalan Salemba Raya.

“The pandemic has made poor people unable to meet their protein needs. Therefore, we help the community by providing food with a high intake of protein, such as eggs to increase the body's immune system," Risma said in a statement in Jakarta, Wednesday, June 23.

The egg packing process is carried out in the Tagana tent, in the backyard of the Ministry of Social Affairs.

Risma said the pandemic had resulted in many people having reduced income. This makes them unable to provide protein needs and even reduce spending on protein intake which is actually needed to fight viral attacks.

The Ministry of Social Affairs received a stock of 110 eggs or the equivalent of 1,650 kg (1.65 tons) received on June 21. The Ministry of Social Affairs received another 67 bundles or the equivalent of 1,000 kg.

A total of 3,169 people received eggs through LKS in DKI Jakarta, and 1,200 people through RT/RW around the Ministry of Social Affairs Office. For cooking purposes, as many as 30 volunteers were assisted by Tagana volunteers.

The Minister of Social Affairs stated that there is a separate reason for the eggs to be distributed to the public in a cooked state.

"If it is given to the public in a raw state, it will be risky. By consuming eggs, it is hoped that it can help protein intake and increase the body's longevity," he said.

Meanwhile, giving eggs is only focused on the people of DKI Jakarta. Social Minister Risma will still wait for further evaluation if it can be done in other places throughout Indonesia. "Then we'll see," he said.
