BANDUNG - West Java Governor M Ridwan Kamil said the West Java Provincial Government received 25,000 bottles of COVID-19 therapy supplements. Supplements will be distributed to maintain the immunity of health workers who are struggling to deal with the surge in COVID-19 patients.

The COVID-19 therapeutic supplement named Rhea Health Tone (RHT) was received during the RHT Donation activity to the Health Frontliner in West Java which was held virtually from the West Java Governor's Office House, Pakuan State Building, Bandung City, Wednesday, June 23.

Kang Emil said that on behalf of the community and the West Java Provincial Government, he expressed his gratitude for the donation of the COVID-19 therapy supplement whose value reached more than Rp6.8 billion.

"On behalf of the people and the West Java Provincial Government, I thank you for the donation, which, if converted into more than Rp6.8 billion, is extraordinary," said Kang Emil, quoted by Antara.

He said the donation of COVID-19 therapy supplements, which were claimed to accelerate the healing of COVID-19 patients, would be distributed to health workers as the frontline in handling COVID-19, especially health workers in areas with red zone status.

"So that the distribution of this donation will not be even, later it will be distributed to Bodebek and Greater Bandung, then other areas," he said.

Kang Emil hopes that people will not panic when they are sentenced to COVID-19 and currently most people panic when they find out that they are positive for COVID-19 and try to get service at the hospital. So that the COVID-19 referral hospitals in West Java are now almost full. "Because of their panic and lack of knowledge about COVID-19, they ended up running to the hospital, even though the symptoms were usually mild and the hospital was full," he said.

"So far, those with mild and moderate symptoms are now directed at home. Let those in the hospital have severe and very severe symptoms," said Kang Emil.

Kang Emil also hopes that the RHT donation developed by RHEA researchers in Armenia can be useful in maintaining the immunity of health workers as the front line in handling COVID-19 in the province he leads so that the handling of COVID-19 in West Java can run optimally.

"This donation is very important in the midst of the COVID-19 emergency situation that West Java is currently facing, especially to keep health workers as the frontline," he said.

Meanwhile, the initiator of RHT in Indonesia, Rudiantara, said that most of the COVID-19 therapeutic supplements will be distributed to the network that has been formed by the Puspa Program (Empowerment of 100 West Java Health Centers).

Rudiantara said with Puspa's network readiness, 14,000 bottles of RHT would be distributed through the Puspa program coordinator, namely CISDI or Center for Indonesia's Strategic Development Initiatives and another 11,000 bottles would be distributed through the West Java Provincial Government network.

"Given the COVID-19 pandemic situation which is showing signs of increasing, RHT will donate its products to the health front liner to strengthen the health front liner's resistance (immunity) in West Java," said the former Minister of Communication and Information.

RHT is also possible to help increase the immunity of health front liners affected by the COVID-19 virus (curative) by providing RHT according to clinical trial procedures that can provide benefits for accelerating the improvement of the patient's condition.
