Anies Baswedan Issues New Micro-Scale Community Activity Restrictions Rules In DKI Jakarta, All Offices Must Implement 75 Percent WFH

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan changed a number of rules in the micro-scale Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) for the period of June 22 to July 5, 2021. This is stated in the Decree of the Governor of DKI Number 769 of 2021 concerning the Extension of Application of Micro-Scale Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM).

One of the rules is to require offices in all COVID-19 risk zones to apply for work from home (WFH) 75 percent, both red, orange, yellow, and green zones.

"Work from home (WFH) is 75 percent and work from office is 25 percent", Anies wrote in the Governor's Decree, quoted on Wednesday, June 23.

Anies said this new rule applies to all offices or workplaces, both government offices, State-owned Enterprises (BUMN), Regional-owned Enterprises (BUMD), to private companies. This rule must be carried out by implementing stricter health protocols.

Then, activities in the essential sector are still allowed to operate 100 percent by regulating operating hours, capacity, and by implementing more stringent health protocols.

The essential sector activities include the energy, communication, and IT sectors, finance, logistics, hospitality, industry, basic services, public utilities, and national vital objects.

"Other essential sectors are places to meet people's basic needs, including people's markets, supermarkets, minimarkets, supermarkets, hypermarkets, wholesalers and specialty stores, both independent and in shopping centers, and grocery stalls", he explained.

Furthermore, construction activities are still allowed to operate 100 percent by regulating operating hours, capacity and by implementing more stringent health protocols.

Then, teaching and learning activities in schools, colleges, academies, to training sites are carried out online.

The rules regarding activities in the workplace are different from the micro-scale PPKM rules issued by the central government. According to central government regulations, only red zones are required to apply 75 percent WFH. Meanwhile, other zones are allowed 50 percent WFH.
