JAKARTA - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the news that the head of the Indonesian delegation who would attend the G-20 Meeting in Catania, Italy, had tested positive for COVID-19.

"That's right, the head of the delegation + (positive for COVID-19). Now he is in self-isolation and can still attend the trial virtually," explained Foreign Ministry Spokesman Teuku Faizasyah when contacted by VOI, Wednesday, June 23.

Previously, the head of the Indonesian delegation at the meeting was reported positive for COVID-19 when he arrived in Italy, Monday, June 21, after previously being negative while flying from Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian Embassy in Rome in a written statement said, "There are 2 (two) Indonesian delegates from Jakarta who attended a series of G20 meetings in the city of Catania, Sicilia Province, Italy, on June 22-23 2021, namely the G20 Education Ministers Meeting, G20 Employment Ministers. ' Meeting and G20 Joint Meeting of Ministers Education and Ministers of Labor and Employment.

"Each of the Indonesian delegation arrived in Catania separately and upon arrival in Catania had undergone a rapid test (anti gene) for COVID-19.
