Fatmawati Hospital Doesn't Accept General Patients Due To Over Capacity Of COVID-19 Patients

JAKARTA - Fatmawati Hospital in Cilandak, South Jakarta, is no longer accepting general or non-COVID-19 patients in order to avoid transmission of the Coronavirus. This is because the capacity of the hospital room has exceeded the limit due to the surge in positive cases.

"Currently, there is an increase in the number of confirmed COVID-19 patients and the number exceeds the capacity of the COVID-19 treatment room", said the Head of Legal, Organization, and Public Relations at Fatmawati Jakarta Hospital, Iwan Rusmana to reporters, Wednesday, June 23.

Iwan explained, to anticipate additional cases and prevent the potential transmission of COVID-19 transmission, the hospital has taken anticipatory steps.

"First, the ER Fatmawati Hospital currently only accepts confirmed COVID-19 patients with moderate, severe, and critical symptoms", he explained.

Second, continued Iwan, for confirmed COVID-19 patients with mild symptoms, it is recommended to go to the Wisma Atlet COVID-19 Emergency Hospital (RSDC). Meanwhile, patients with confirmed COVID-19 without symptoms are advised to do self-isolation. Iwan said that COVID-19 patients could be admitted to Fatmawati Hospital if the emergency room capacity was still available.

"General or non-covid patients who enter through the emergency room will temporarily be directed to a nearby hospital to avoid transmission or transmission of COVID-19", concluded Iwan.
