Such as in the field of application-based online transportation services. Uber Technologies Inc., a transportation company from the United States, is gradually starting to use a fleet of electric vehicles.

To meet the needs of supplying electric vehicles for its European fleet, Uber is partnering with South Korea's second largest carmaker, Kia, which will send its best model to Uber's fleet.

"This strategic partnership aims to promote EV adoption and expansion of EV charging infrastructure in major European cities," Kia said in a statement citing the Korea Times Wednesday, June 16.

"Kia will provide Uber drivers with Niro and other electrified models at discounted prices in 20 European countries," the statement continued.

The partnership is in line with Uber's plans to operate more than 100,000 electric vehicles in Europe by 2025 and become a zero-emissions mobility platform by 2030.

"Uber aims to make 50 percent of the total aggregate kilometers of Uber trips across seven European capital cities - Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Lisbon, London, Madrid and Paris - driven by EVs by 2025," the statement said.

Not only that, Kia is also targeting to be able to launch 11 electric models by 2026 and sell 880,000 pure electric cars by 2030.
