COVID-19 Cases Soar, Kudus Proposes Additional 70,000 Vaccine Doses To The Ministry Of Health

KUDUS - The government of Kudus Regency, Central Java, proposed an additional 70,000 doses of vaccine to achieve the target of accelerating COVID-19 vaccination in the local area. Kudus increased the vaccination target from the previous 127,063 people, now it has increased to 664,666 people.

"We have submitted a request for an additional vaccine to the Indonesian Ministry of Health in the hope that it will be granted in the near future," said Head of the Kudus District Health Office, Badai Ismoyo, quoted by Antara, Friday, June 18.

With such a target, he said, currently there are not many vaccines available because the available stock is only 80,000 doses. It was also prepared for the second injection of vaccination.

In the context of accelerating vaccination, all health workers in 19 Puskesmas were mobilized, including private health clinics, to be involved in the vaccination.

Ismoyo also appreciates the steps taken by private companies that take part in the mass vaccination program so that to realize the vaccination target of 664,666 people, of course it can be faster.

The targets include 7,421 health workers, 52,660 public servants, 68,901 elderly targets, 123,144 vulnerable people and 412,540 targets for the general public.

All health facilities belonging to the Kudus District Health Office and private, are targeted to be able to vaccinate at least 1,000 doses per day.

With education assistance on the importance of vaccination from various parties, he is optimistic that the target of 1,000 vaccinations a day can be achieved because public awareness has begun to increase.

Due to additional targets from the general public, the current vaccination realization is still low, around 9 percent for the first injection and 4.1 percent for the second injection.
