COVID-19 Update As Of June 18: 12,990 New Cases, Accumulated 1,963,266 Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 132,215 specimens were examined with the result that there were 12,990 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 1,963,266 people and today's active cases have increased by 4,793 to 130,096 cases," said Ministry of Health data, Friday, June 18.

Today's recovered cases increased by 7,907 cases, bringing the total to 1,779,127 recovered people. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 290 people and a total of 54,043 people.

The province with the most new cases is DKI Jakarta with 4,737 cases and a total of 463,552 cases. Followed by West Java which has 2,791 new cases with a total of 340,455 cases. Central Java has 1,331 new cases and a total of 223,076 cases. Then, East Java has 731 new cases and a total of 162,116 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 2,517 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 1,292 recovered cases, Central Java with an additional 790 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 408 recovered cases.

There is one province that reported no new cases today. The province that reported zero new cases was Maluku.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 18,438,025.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 20.22 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 111,635 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

Currently, there are 22,455,167 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 12,096,066 of the second dose of vaccination. Meanwhile, the total target of vaccination stages 1 and 2 reached 40,349,049 people.
